Immy & Liv's Story
I don’t take a single word for granted...

(Narrated by Immy & Liv's mum.)
This week has been something else.
I’ve found myself happy crying — for a few different reasons. 💕
I took the girls out on my own, and they were both amazing. They listened, they engaged, and I felt so proud.
Immy wanted to film a little make-up video. I’ll attach it because it made me tear up watching it back. This time last year, I was still waiting — waiting to hear her soft little voice more clearly, waiting for the conversations I never thought we would have.
Now we’re having them. And I don’t take a single word for granted. ✨
And then there’s Liv.
She’s been using her reins so much more positively, listening carefully, and we’ve been doing lots of mark-making and early writing activities at home. Today, she wrote her name independently for the very first time. 🖍️
It might seem like a small thing to some people — but for us, it’s huge. I can’t even put into words how much that moment meant.
I can’t begin to thank the school enough for the support the girls receive. I am so overwhelmed by their progress this week. It has been massively noticeable — not just in what they can do, but in their confidence and independence too. 💛
For children like Immy and Liv, progress doesn’t always come in big leaps. Sometimes it’s in soft voices, first conversations, stronger listening, or a name written for the very first time. Sensory support, patient teaching and the right environment make those moments possible. 🌈
The #Shadows2Giants campaign will help ensure more children can experience breakthroughs like these — the kind that change not just a school day, but a family’s whole world. 💙
